Join Cora Morrison, founder of Alula Boutique Containers, for an inspiring and practical workshop focused on designing containers that add beauty, structure, and seasonal interest to residential landscapes. We’ll explore how containers can be incorporated early in the design process to define outdoor living spaces, create sculptural focal points, and provide instant color and texture throughout the year. The session will also cover the fundamentals of successful container gardening, including soil selection, proper soil levels, watering techniques, drip irrigation options, plant selection, and ongoing maintenance strategies that keep containers thriving through every season.

In addition to design principles, this workshop will examine how seasonal container programs can become a valuable recurring revenue stream for landscape designers through multiple seasonal change-outs. Attendees will leave with practical ideas, plant recommendations, and techniques for creating dynamic displays with strong seasonal appeal. Each attendee will design and assemble their own planted container to take home.
Workshop leader Cora Morrison is known for creating sophisticated seasonally layered container designs that combine artistic composition with practical horticultural expertise. Through Alula Boutique Containers, she specializes in custom container installations and seasonal displays for residential clients throughout the Seattle area. Cora brings a thoughtful design perspective, extensive hands-on experience with container plantings, and a passion for helping others create containers that remain beautiful, functional, and dynamic throughout the year.
